Researchers are beginning to suspect that MSG in food may play a role in blindness.
See our page on MSG and Myopia.
According to the latest research, glaucoma and
Alzheimer's have Beta Amyloid protein in common:

Unfortunately, Beta Amyloid protein makes neurons
in the body less able to withstand excitotoxicity of glutamate and
asparate.

And so - having the disease Glaucoma or
Alzheimer's or both makes one MORE susceptible to the effects of MSG and
aspartame. Something to think about when you are a care-giver to a
family member with either of these diseases.
